#WalangPasok: No Classes in all levels in Quezon City for the SONA of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte suspended classes on all levels for private and public schools in the city on Monday, July 25, for the first State of the Nation Address of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

Manila, Philippines – Quezon City Mayor Belmonte signed Executive Order 18 declaring the suspension of classes last Saturday, July 23, 2022. President Ferdinand Bongbong Marcos Jr is scheduled to deliver his first SONA at the Batasang Pambansa Complex in Quezon City.
Mayor Joy Belmonte also ordered the early dismissal of local government workers since the SONA will be held at the House of Representatives in Quezon City.
“In view of the first State of the Nation Address of President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr., the office hours of the entire Quezon City local government on Monday, July 25, shall be up to 12 noon only,” said a memorandum signed by Belmonte.
The State of the Nation Address (SONA; Filipino: Talumpati sa Kalagayan ng Bansa) is an annual address by the president of the Philippines to a joint session of the Congress of the Philippines. Mandated by the 1987 Constitution, the speech is delivered every fourth Monday of July at the Plenary Session Hall of the Batasang Pambansa Complex in Batasan Hills, Quezon City.
The SONA, which is often broadcast, serves as a means to inform the nation about its present economic, political, and social condition. It is also a vehicle for the President to summarize the accomplishments and plans of their government program for a particular year and until the end of their term of office.
